In September, Russia begins the Vostok-2022 military manoeuvres. The main purpose of the manoeuvres is propaganda and to maintain the myth of the Russian army as the „second most powerful army in the world”. Russian allies: China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, India, Laos, Nicaragua and Syria are also taking part in the manoeuvres.
